A TV Review from 1995

My husband and I try not to be an annoying couple that brags about not watching TV, but for the most part, we don't watch TV...Excluding (obviously) that sweet, sweet Bachelory time of year when NOT watching means missing out on fantastic break room conversation and numerous opportunities to make fun of foolish women. After weekends upon weekends of back to back plans, dressing up, packing bags, "crafting" and everything else that busy weekends entail... I got my TV on (you can take that as 1. I am trying to sound "ghetto" and "cool" or 2. I literally turned my TV on to watch it. Much like my taste in music, I prefer the 90's hits much more than what is on the tube these days. I do give present shows a shot.  Just last week I tried to get into some Law & Order SVU (being that it's all the rage).  Man, could that show get any Rape-ier?  Ugh. I lasted about 2 minutes. So, with a comfortable fort built in the living room, I embarked on a...

Besitos- A Bachelor Final Rose Recap

Awwwwwwwwwkward  It is a challenge to really structure this "recap" post, so instead I turn to bullet points- let's call them Besitos. If I had to use one word over and over again, and I did from 8-11pm last night, it would be Awkward ! Awkward scenes with Claire, Awkward Venezuelan family scenes, Awkward that Nikki isn't loved...just so awkward. Did anyone else feel I don't know, NOT surprised at all , when Claire shared that she had never "told off" a man before? Yea...we could tell.  We like you for the most part...but that move needs some work.  The worst thing you can ever do while telling someone off is stumble over your (awkward) words.  Truly the only part I could get behind was her Stand-Back-Buddy! pose when he immediately went in for a hug after dumping her (in lieu of proposing).  Where it all began...the big TELLING Off, that is Hey Nikki, stop pretending you DON'T care if this man says he loves you or not.  It'...

Nice Rack

I am extremely sore and joyfully exhausted. This week has been fantastic...and it's only Wednesday. After a day of cardio hip hop, break dancing and learning incredible choreographed routines I went home to hit the shower. That's how you know I got worked. Normally after a hard workout, I'm all about hitting the errands sans an in-between shower. These days though, the dancin madness has got me resorting to cleanliness! I've been sweating like a man...more than an average man probably.  After a shower and Advil I was ready to conquer my to-do list of errands. I started out picking up my bartending paycheck. I just love having two jobs...it makes it seem like there's always someone paying me! My manager (the "mo-fo" abolitionist) had left a message for me earlier asking if I could work on Saturday morning. Let me just say that Saturday is my ONLY day off. In a given week I work forty hours teaching and two nights mixin' 'dem drinks (ok...

Garrot the Carrot gave me MONO!

I'll be honest with you, my faithful readers, it's possible all of what I'm about to write may be cloudy and un-understandable, being that I am hopped up (or down rather) on Decongestants and Antihistamines. I'm going to attempt articulacy...side note: is it possible drugs make my spelling better? That and losing 3 lbs in the last 3 days might make this all worth while. I felt a little sick 2 weeks ago and have been one of those snotty yet functional kids ever since. Although I survived my Friday night date without sneezing or coughing all over the fellow, Saturday afternoon I started to feel GNARLY. Throat scratchy, ears achy, head congested and overall dissatisfaction led me to a hot shower. Once out of the shower, carefully so not to fall into the wall heater, I realized I had a rash...all over my body! This is where I start to weep a little. Who has a rash like this? This cannot be right. And might I add, going without health insurance seems like a fantastic idea ...

It's a love/hate relationship

Seriously I have a love/hate relationship going on...with many people. Some of those include LC, "Speidi", Audrina, Whitney, Lo and Justin Bobby. Why do I still watch THE HILLS?! I love/hate that show so much! I watch it religiously, TIVO it even, and find that every week I wanna throw my glass of wine against the Toshiba! (This could really be a problem for the 'Tosh and my white shag rug...also wasteful) I don't know what it is. I fear if I miss an episode I won't know what's going on, like what Spencer did this week that will make my skin crawl. How poorly did Justin Bobby treat Audrina...and was he wearing combat boots at the time? How many people did LC help...Holly, Stephanie, a struggling FIDM student? So many plots! Really the entire show is about a bunch of tools treating these young 20-something girls like trash and the dumb girls thinking it's sweet. How annoying is that? Very annoying apparently. I can't help it though! I...
